SIP / VoIP
Give employees a phone line with any SIP provider you already have, with HD audio and recordings.
Where
Dashboard sidebar → Settings → Connectors → SIP / VoIP. Only the instance owner adds and edits SIP accounts.
What it does
An employee can answer and place phone calls on any SIP provider: the trunk of your phone operator, your IPBX provider, OVH, Ionos, Telnyx… It talks with the same voice AI as on Twilio, uses its tools during the call, and every call leaves a transcript and a call card in the chat.
- HD audio end to end. SIP calls stay in wideband (16 kHz) all the way to the AI and back. A provider using G.722 keeps HD voice.
- Recordings. With Record calls on, a SIP call is recorded (both voices) and saved as an MP3 next to its transcript; the call card offers it for download.
- Nothing to open on your server. TLS runs on port 5060/tcp, and plain TCP only uses connections the instance opens itself.
- Calls, not SMS. Text messages stay on Twilio: a SIP line has none.
Add a SIP account, step by step
- Click Add. The form asks for what your provider gave you: Server, Port, Transport (UDP, TCP or TLS), Username, Password and the Number of the line.
- Advanced, only if your provider asks for it: the domain, a separate authentication username, an outbound proxy, the DTMF mode, the codecs, registration on or off, and SRTP (encrypted audio).
- Test the connection: it waits for the real answer of the provider and tells you if the account is accepted.
- Save. The line shows its live state: Connected, Connecting or Failed.
The password is stored encrypted.
Give the line to an employee
The connector only manages the accounts. The line itself is given to an employee from its Calls & voice → Line tab (admins), which lists every line of the instance, Twilio numbers and SIP lines alike, with their state. Each line in the connector shows the employee it belongs to.
What breaks
- Failed: the server, the credentials or the transport are wrong, or the provider refuses the instance's address. Test the connection gives the provider's answer.
- The employee is not reached: check that the number is the one your provider routes to this account, and that the line is given to the employee in Calls & voice.
- A provider drops every request: some providers block unknown devices; allow your instance's public address in their portal.
