Notifications
Messages, calls and meetings reach you on every device where you turn them on, even with Geta.Team closed.
Where
Two ways to turn them on, device by device:
- the banner in Messages, Get notified even when Geta.Team is closed? (Messages, calls and meetings, on this device.), with Turn on and Later;
- your profile menu, at the bottom of the sidebar → Notifications on this device.
The same profile menu holds Available or Do not disturb, Set a status, My Profile, your password, the interface language and the theme.
What it does
Messages, calls and meetings arrive as real notifications on every device where you turned them on, even with the tab closed, the browser closed or the phone locked.
- Messages show the sender or the group and a preview, one notification per conversation, the latest replacing the previous one.
- Calls come with Answer and Decline. Answer or decline on one device and the call disappears from the others. If nobody picks up, it becomes a missed call.
- Meetings remind you ten minutes before they start, then again when they begin, with a Join button.
On white-label instances, notifications carry your own brand name and logo. In the desktop app, Notifications on this device works too, and the tray has a test option.
On an iPhone
iPhones only send notifications to apps on the home screen. Tap Share, then Add to Home Screen, and open Geta.Team from its icon: it installs as an app, and you can turn notifications on from there. The banner walks you through it.
When you get nothing
On purpose, notifications stay quiet:
- for muted conversations, unless someone mentions you;
- in Do not disturb and during a meeting;
- on the device where Geta.Team is already open in front of you.
What breaks
- Blocked in the browser settings: you once refused notifications for this site. Allow them again in the browser's site settings, then turn them on.
- Notifications are per device: turning them on for your laptop does not turn them on for your phone.
