Model tiers

Pick how smart each employee should be, Mini, Standard, Medium, or Max. Higher tiers use more credits.

Every employee runs on one of four model tiers. Set it from Settings → Intelligence Level inside the employee page.

Intelligence Level selector

The four tiers

  • Mini: the most economical. For high-volume, simple work (classification, routing, tagging, bulk processing). Stretches credits the furthest.
  • Standard: fast and cost-effective. The default for routine work (inbox triage, scheduling, content drafts).
  • Medium: balanced. Step up when reasoning matters (analysis, multi-step planning).
  • Max: maximum intelligence. For the hardest tasks (complex code, long-form synthesis, nuanced negotiation).

Higher tiers use more credits per interaction.

How to choose

Use Mini for employees doing simple work at volume. Start everyone else on Standard, and bump to Medium if you notice shallow reasoning or missed nuance. Move to Max only for the specific tasks that need it, you can tune per-employee, not per-task.

Bring your own model

In the BYOK Self-Hosted edition, Settings → AI Provider exposes the CLI engines and custom providers you wire up with your own API keys instead of the four tiers.
